Our number one difference

“Apple” and “苹果” are not two brands.

Chinese name, English name, legal name, short form, alias, sub-brand — you declare which spellings count as one entity, and we normalize on your declaration before counting.

But in a competitor's visibility matrix, they are two rows. Apple takes 94.6%, 苹果 takes 4.6% — counted separately, ranked separately. One company's share of voice, split in half by language.

For a brand going global this is not an edge case, it is the main source of distortion. The more your brand lives in two languages, with short forms and sub-brands, the worse it gets. And that is the number you take to your board.

So you declare the identity set.

Chinese name, English name, legal name, short form, alias, sub-brand — you define which spellings are the same entity. citat.ai normalizes on your declaration, then counts. This is not a decision to hand to an algorithm that cannot read Chinese reliably.

Entity normalization

Same sentences. Flip the alias switch, and the conclusion reverses.

A brand going global is written many ways in AI answers: the Chinese name, the English name, the short form, a sub-brand. If a tool counts each of those as a separate brand, what you are looking at is not your visibility — it is your visibility after it has been cut into pieces.
